Terms of Service

• "Contigress", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the Contigress app and its operator, [TODO: company legal name].
• "App" means the Contigress mobile application and this website.
• "You" means the person using the App.
• "Content" means goals, check-ins, photos, comments, support reactions, and any other material you create or share in the App.

Contigress is a goal-continuation app. You can track personal goals privately, share them with a chosen group of supporters, or post them to a community for encouragement. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and at least the minimum age required for an online service in your region. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure.

You sign in using Google or Sign in with Apple. We receive a basic account identifier and, where you allow it, your name and profile photo. Your use of those providers is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

You keep ownership of the Content you create. To run the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and distribute your Content only to the audiences you choose for it (private, support circle, or community), and to make copies as needed to operate and back up the service.

This license ends when you delete the Content or your account, except for copies retained for a reasonable period in backups or where required by law.

Each goal has a visibility setting that you control: private (only you), support circle (people you invite), or community (any signed-in user). Photos and check-ins follow the visibility of the goal they belong to.

If you set a goal to community, its Content may be visible to other users and may be saved or referenced by them while it remains shared. Choose your visibility carefully before posting personal information.

You are responsible for the Content you post. You confirm that you have the right to share it, that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, and that it complies with these Terms and applicable law.

When using Contigress, do not:

• Post unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, or sexually exploitative content.
• Share images or material you do not have the right to share.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
• Spam, advertise, or use the community feed for commercial promotion.
• Attempt to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service, or bypass its security or moderation.

Users can report Content. We may review, hide, or remove Content that breaks these Terms, and we may limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously violate them. Some moderation may be automated. We are not obligated to monitor all Content, but we may act on what is reported.

Contigress is a tool for tracking and continuing goals. We do not promise that using the App will help you reach any particular goal or outcome. Your progress is your own.

Contigress does not provide medical, mental health, financial, legal, fitness, or other professional advice. Content in the App, including from other users, is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. If you have concerns about your health, finances, or wellbeing, please consult an appropriate professional.

Contigress is currently free to use and has no paid plan. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do, we will present the terms and pricing clearly before you are charged, and those terms will apply only to the features you choose to buy.

Contigress relies on third-party services to operate, including Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Check, and Cloud Messaging for notifications), Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple. Your use of the App involves these providers processing data as described in our Privacy Policy.

The Contigress name, logo, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without permission. You retain ownership of your own Content as described above.

Contigress is in active development. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We may also update these Terms; if we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

You may stop using Contigress at any time and delete your account from within the App, which removes your account and associated Content as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Hong Kong will have jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
